What it Feels Like to Launch

Hi my name is Roxy Suida and I am a fourth year student currently in the social entrepreneurship option. As a group or individual in se400 launching your venture is the most nerve wracking and exciting experience. It is the reason producing your venture is all worth it. Seeing all your hard work pay off and seeing how others react and interpret your venture is very rewarding. On the other side of things it is worrying having the fear of flopping or your venture not being successful. Another fear is having people not come out to the launch. This creates a nail biting situation when you group is waiting for people to show up.

Fortunately for my group GENconnect Waterloo, we had a very successful turn out and our launch went smoothly. It was better than what we had expected. It was amazing to see how many people were interested in our venture and watch our idea become reality was quite humbling. It makes the months of planning, advertising and brainstorming all worth while and the feeling of a successful launch is irreplaceable. I highly encourage people to do this option. Being in this option has taught me valuable life skills and understand what it takes to create and launch your own business. It an experience I feel every student should be able to have.
